Haven was born and grew up in Decatur, Illinois in a middle class family. Her mother and three aunts were avid readers of Harlequin romances, which is where Haven gets her love for reading.

Currently, Haven resides in sunny southwest Florida with the best husband anyone could have, 7 rabbits, 2 dogs, and 9 chickens. Assorted other live creatures abound but so far no gators have been sited. Her daughters and 13 grandchildren are the delight of her life.

Haven is a nurse practitioner with a belief in alternative therapies. She works fulltime in a Internal Medicine practice and has published two textbooks for nurse practitioners. She is a certified hypnotherapist, aromatherapist and would love to own and operate a resort spa someday in the future.

Currently finishing her third short contemporary novel, Haven plans on a brilliant career as a novelist. Because of her love of castles, ghosts, mysteries and unusual happenings, she has hints of alternative therapies in all of her novels with a focus on castles.
